School Day

School Hours

School starts at 8.50am and closes at 3.20pm daily.

School opens at 8.40am so that children can arrive between 8.40am and 8.50am to ease congestion at the school gates and this allows create a calm atmosphere around school in the mornings. Mrs Wood is present at the school gate each morning. Please feel free to pass on any messages or just come and have  a chat.

Playtimes

Outdoor play has a huge range of benefits for children. We value high-quality playtimes which benefit our children’s academic attainment and improve behaviour both in the playground and back in class, and it makes them happier at school too. Research shows that being out in fresh air, whatever the weather, has been shown to improve mood, reduce stress, improve eyesight and increase physical activity. It can also improve children’s educational outcomes. The fun that comes from play is a crucial, and is essential to health, wellbeing and learning.
